ecommerce refer to the online transaction of money which usually include selling ans buying of products where as other activities like customer support ,marketing of products, customer education comes under e business.so ebiz is a broader term and e com comes under e biz.for example Apple sells its products on internet. If i visit the site and check all the products, this activity comes under e-business since no transaction occur.

  2. E-commerce is a part of e-business. E-comm includes online selling of products e.g. Amazon.com.It is America's largest online retailer. E-biz involves all the business activities including e-com as well e.g PIA has also started e-biz through piac.com.pk. Through its website PIA not only sells tickets but also provide other business services such as flight schedules, information regardindg seat availability, reservation handling etc.

  3. E-commerce covers the range of on-line business activities for products and services, both business-to-business and business-to-consumer, through the Internet. This course breaks eCommerce into:
    1)Online Shopping
    2)Online Purchasing

    Example of e-commerce transactions is:
•An individual purchases a book on the Internet.

E-business covers online transactions, but also extends to all Internet based interactions with business partners, suppliers and customers. infact, E-commerce is the transformation of key business processes through the use of Internet technologies

for example, Amazon (www.amazon.com) and eBay (www.ebay.com) are the world’s two biggest e-businesses.

  4. E-commerce is the conduct of a financial transaction by electronic means using any of the application that rely on the Internet such as e-mail, instant messaging, shopping carts, web services. E-commerce covers a firm's interactions with its customers and suppliers over the internet e.g. Amazon.com is American retailer store doing online business of books selling.
E-business cover online transactions but also extends to all internet based interactions with business partners, suppliers, and customers such as selling direct to consumers, manufacturers and suppliers, monitoring and exchanging information and product design. These online transactions are aimed at improving or transforming business processes and efficiency e.g. you visit a retailer's web site and buy a shirt. When the shirt arrives it is in the wrong size. You decide to return the shirt at the store's retail outlet instead of mailing it back to the vendor. In short, E-commerce is the part of E-business.

E-commerce is a subset of e-business because e-commerce covers only external processes(i.e customers, suppliers, including sales, marketing, order taking e.t.c)
whereas, e-business involves external as well as internal processes(i.e production, inventory management, product development e.t.c).
In e-commerce all the activities are being held on the internet i.e all the purchase orders, transactions etc on the other hand e-business involves consumer involvment in the purchase process somehow.
    for example:
shoeguru is e-commerce base business. If they make their own production houses and consumers are able to purchase from the stores it will be an e-business.

  9. Electronic commerce or "eCommerce" covers the range of on-line business activities for products and services, both business-to-business and business-to-consumer, through the Internet. eCommerce breaks into two components:
    1)Online Shopping
    2)Online Purchasing
eBusiness is a super-set of eCommerce. One component of transitioning your company from a traditional business to an eBusiness is when you incorporate eCommerce into your company's flow. For example, when your sales and fulfillment organizations can handle web-based purchases equivalently to telephone and mail purchases, you have started the transition to eBusiness.

Electronic commerce is a way of doing real-time business transactions via telecommunications networks, when the customer and the merchant are in different geographical places. Electronic commerce is a broad concept that includes sales of goods, purchase of goods, and payment methods. For example www.ebay.com ,where sales and purchase takes place.

eBusiness (e-Business), derived from such terms as "e-mail" and "e-commerce," is the conduct of business on the Internet, not only buying and selling, but also servicing customers and collaborating with business partners. E-business involves new business models and the potential to gain new revenue or lose some existing revenue to new competitors. The sign of a good eBusiness is not just being able to sell books, but knowing how many books you've sold, and to whom, For example www.skype.com/intl/en/ . Another example is IBM, in 1997, was one of the first to use the term when it launched a campaign built around the term. Today, many corporations are rethinking their businesses in terms of the Internet and its capabilities.
Finally we can say that eBusiness is a super-set of eCommerce.

  12. E-commerce is the process of digitally enabled commercial transactions between organizations and individuals that involve new business models and the potentials to gain new revenue or lose some existing revenue to new competitors and covers outward facing processes of a business.
E commerce sites have only internet based virtual existence and have no concept of branch system. Simply, when you start your new business through internet then it is called E-commerce.
E-business is the process of digitally enablement of transactions and processes within a firm involving information systems under the control of the firm. E-business strategy is more complex, more focused on internal processes, and aimed at cost savings and improvements in efficiency, productivity and cost savings. When you digitalize your already well established business then it falls under the category of E- business and its sites have both existences, internet and the physical.
Example for e commerce is EBAY and for e business is PTCL.

  19. Electronic business methods enable companies to link their internal and external data processing systems more efficiently and flexibly, to work more closely with suppliers and partners, and to better satisfy the needs and expectations of their customers. E-business is about handling the functionality of the organization using electronic capabilities. It doesn’t rely on Internet only but it can be conducted using the Web, the Internet, intranets, extra-nets, or some combination of these. Dell is an example of E-business where the suppliers and customers both can interact through a network and can find out the needs of the customers easily.
E-Commerce is just the part of E-business. E-Commerce is about selling and buying of products or services through Internet or World Wide Web technology. It is the subset of E-Business. 22. E-business is a term used to describe businesses run on the Internet, or utilizing Internet technologies to improve the productivity or profitability of a business. In a more general sense, the term may be used to describe any form of electronic business that is to say, any business which utilizes a computer. It uses the electronic technologies like intranets, extranets and World Wide Web. Telenor is an example of E-Business where all the branches of the company are connected with each other through network. Money Transactions can also be done using the electronic technology.
E commerce refers to online transactions - buying and selling of goods and services over the Internet involving transaction of monetary nature. In E-Commerce business is done by using the Internet or www technology. Electronic commerce is generally considered to be the sales aspect of e-business. It’s just a part of E-Business. E-Commerce site is totally virtual and it has only internet recognition and it doesn’t have any branches. For e-commerce, it is not compulsory that you have to own a company of yours. All the payment methods must be digital in digital transactions e.g., no shops are available. Transactions are either being converted or indirectly being sent in it. it is e-commerce when the idea is proposed on the internet, and doesn’t possess any manual functionality/ existence before. EXAMPLE:
a programmer design games, as in zynga games on face book the CPC and the PPC is taken into account and earn profit through it.
    WHERE AS
E-Business can have both internet as well as manual existence. as in if you have a flourished business and you put it online following the universal standards for it, it is e- business and NOT e-commerce. E-business has a large scope and e-comm is just a part of it. Transactions are being done within the firm and value exchange is not required in it. shops are available for it. EXAMPLE:
a garments manufacturing industry, previously having shops and interacting with the local distributors and then putting its business online as well for increased sales volume and hitting masses.
Lastly, E-business and E-commerce difference is must so that there must be some kind of distinction between both on the internet; the experienced and the new comer.

Electronic commerce or e-commerce refers to a wide range of online business activities for products and services. It also pertains to any form of business transaction in which the parties interact electronically rather than by physical exchanges or direct physical contact.
E-commerce is usually associated with buying and selling over the Internet, or conducting any transaction involving the transfer of ownership or rights to use goods or services through a computer-mediated network. E-Commerce is the subset of E-Business.
Electronic business, commonly referred to as "eBusiness" or "e-business", may be defined as the utilization of information and communication technologies (ICT) in support of all the activities of business. Electronic business methods enable companies to link their internal and external data processing systems more efficiently and flexibly, to work more closely with suppliers and partners, and to better satisfy the needs and expectations of their customers.
In practice, e-business is more than just e-commerce. While e-business refers to more strategic focus with an emphasis on the functions that occur using electronic capabilities, e-commerce is a subset of an overall e-business strategy.
Example of E-commerce is ebay. Ptcl is an example of E-business

  26. Practice of digitally enabled commercial transactions between organizations and individuals is called E-Commerce. This involves the establishment of a completely new electronic business that has no physical existence and this feature differentiates it from E-Business. Examples for this are Amazon.com and EBay.
Process of digital enablement of transactions and processes within a firm involving information systems under the control of the firm is called E-Business. There would be no exaggeration in saying that E-Business is the superset of E-Commerce which means that it not only contains E-Commerce that deals with the outward business processes, but also includes the internal business processes like production, inventory management and product development etc. Also digitalization of an already physically existing business falls under this category. Example of E-Business is online banking of Bank of America.

  27. E-commerce refers to buying and selling products or services to either consumers or other businesses using the Internet while E-business refers to the transformation of key business processes through the use of Internet technologies. These processes include research and development, marketing, manufacturing and inbound and outbound logistics. It means e-business refers to those businesses that run the traditional way but also cater to the needs of online requests. E-commerce website only caters to selling of a commodity.
E-commerce is just a subset of E -business. To sell online is e-commerce but to bring and retain customers and educate them online about the product or service is e-business.e.g. If you are successfully selling something online, that is considered as an e-commerce activity However, brining customers to your website by efficiently marketing your product and maintaining the standard of your website is an e-business activity. Moreover, educating your customers about the website and about the products or services is also an e-business activity.

  28. E -business and e-commerce are terms that are sometimes used interchangeably, and sometimes they're used to differentiate one vendor's product from another. But the terms are different, and that difference matters to today's companies.
E-commerce refers to digitally enabled commercial transactions between organizations and individuals.
It includes sales, marketing, order taking, delivery, customer service, purchasing of raw materials and supplies for production and procurement of indirect operating-expense items, such as office supplies.
Like alibaba.com is an E-commerce based site.

    Whereas e-business
is digitally enablement of transactions and processes within a firm, involving information systems under the control of the firm.
It includes local and on-line business. It is a superset of e commerce.
It also covers internal processes such as production, inventory management, product development, risk management, finance, knowledge management and human resources.
Like if a Doctor is doing his business locally and also creates an e-commerce based site by providing his services to individuals on internet, than he is doing E-business. And also PIA is a good example with this regard, it sells its tickets online and also sells it locally.

Electronic commerce is the simple practice of doing the business digitally. What we used to do in the physical world with a hell of barriers and complexities and limitation and lot more is done simply over the electronic devices like the internet. The scope of ecommerce is very broad and it has multiple aspects. Most of the times ,it involves the exchange of the virtual items but involves the exchange and movement of physical products now equally.E commerce covers the multiple aspects of the daily business operations that we do physically.E commerce is just doing the job of innovating the traditional trade practices .It involves selling and buying of goods over the digital network of internet. All the transactions that are carried out are digital .E commerce can be between two businesses or between the end consumer and a business.
E business is the practice of doing the business in a traditional manner with a blend of technology. It means that a company is already operating in the marketing with substantial share in overall market and now plans to move to the digital world of internet either to expand globally or to overcome the shortages in the local market. E business is basically carrying out all the functions specific of any business like supply chain management , order processing, customer relationship management and others electronically.

E-Business is the integration of a company's activities including products, procedures, and services with the Internet. A business can enter into an E-Business when it integrates its sales, marketing, accounting, manufacturing, and operations with its web site activities. E-business has both physical and virtual existence. And in both forms business is active. An E-Business uses the Internet as fully integrated channel for all business activities. E-Businesses do not consider the web site as a separate activity from their core businesses: The web site is integral to all activities at an E-Business. E-business can be conducted using the Web, the Internet, intranets, extranets, or some combination of these.
    EXAMPLE: Nokia mobile, UBL

E-commerce means electronic business. Business has only virtual existence. All the task of business performs online.
Electronic commerce, commonly known as (electronic marketing) e-commerce or eCommerce, consists of the buying and selling of products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks

  42. E-Commerce is the subset of E-Business. If you remember the Venn diagram you studied in school then you can very well understand what I am trying to convey. The later one is a very broad concept while the former one is just a small part of it. This relationship will be cleared in the subsequent example.
When Dell sell computers, laptops, monitors, printers, accessories etc online then it is not engaged in e-commerce but e-business. Let me tell you how. When a visitor comes on the website, the first thing he see is website design and navigation as well as those things which are going to help him find what he is looking for and if he directly lands on the page he was looking for, he looks for the information related to it. The information provided should be appealing and clear maximum doubts of the visitor so as to convert him in a client. Till now no money has been exchanged nor been talked about. So, was this e-commerce? No, it is e-business which guides the visitor.
In all, e-commerce can be described as the use of the Internet and the web to transact business. More formally, digitally enabled commercial transactions between and among organizations and individuals. On the other hand, e-business can be described as the digital enablement of transactions and process within a firm, involving information systems under the control of the firm. Moreover, e-business applications turn into e-commerce precisely when an exchange of value occurs.

E- commerce consists of the buying and selling of products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks. A large percentage of electronic commerce is conducted entirely electronically for virtual items such as access to premium content on a website, but most electronic commerce involves the transportation of physical items in some way.
Electronic commerce is generally considered to be the sales aspect of e-business. It also consists of the exchange of data to facilitate the financing and payment aspects of the business transactions.

E business is the utilization of information and communication technologies (ICT) in support of all the activities of business. e-business is more than just e-commerce. E-commerce is a part of e-business.
EXAMPLE: NIKE and GUCCI are examples of e-business.
While E-BAY is an example of e-commerce.

All e-commerce is part of e-business. Not all e-business is e-commerce.
If there is a direct financial transaction involved with the electronic process using Internet technologies it is e-commerce.
If there is a non-financial transaction with an electronic process using Internet technologies it is e-business.
Any transaction with an electronic process using Internet technologies is e-business. Therefore all e-commerce is e-business but not all e-business is e-commerce.

An ecommerce company is the company that started business on internet and has only virtual existence while ebusiness companies have both physical and virtual existence. Ebusiness is just making already flourihed businesses online.
Value exchange is allowed in ecommerce but not in ebusiness.
The example of an ebusiness company is MCB BANK http://www.mcb.com.pk/

It involves new business models and is easy to implement. E-commerce is the
use of electronic communications and digital information processing technology in
business transactions to create, transform, and redefine relationships for value creation
between or among organizations, and between organizations and individuals.Examples of e-commerce transactions are:
    • An individual purchases a book on the Internet.
    • A government employee reserves a hotel room over the Internet.
    • An individual withdraws funds from an automatic teller machine (ATM)
    Amazon.com
Advertised to be the largest bookstore in the World. This Web site has access to 2.5 million book titles. Very nice search tools [ by title, author, topic, ISBN, etc. ] and several very interesting features re: Books of the Day.
Pizza Hut This is the VERY FIRST Electronic Commerce site on the Internet! You can order Pizza from Santa Cruz Operation. You can select your pizza type, etc. You even have to hold down your mouse to get multiple toppings.
e-Business covers online transactions, but also extends to all Internet based interactions with business partners, suppliers and customers such as: selling direct to consumers, manufacturers and suppliers; monitoring and exchanging information; auctioning surplus inventory; and collaborative product design. These online interactions are aimed at improving or transforming business processes and efficiency.

E -business and e-commerce are terms that are sometimes used interchangeably, and sometimes they're used to differentiate one vendor's product from another. But the terms are different, and that difference matters to today's companies. Its also says as e-commerce is a subset of e-business.

    DIFFERENCE
    -------------
    E-business: - digital enablement of
transactions and process within a firm, involving information system under the control of the firm.
e-business does not involve commercial transactions across organizational boundaries where value is exchanged.
If already stable business transform into website for more revenue then it will remain called as e-business. For example: - any bank like standard chartered bank.
    On the other hand
E-commerce:- is digitally enabled commercial transactions b/w organization and individuals. Limitation of e-commerce is money is not hand to hand reliability does matter lots. For example:- all the online shopping malls or service centers which are only earning through online websites.

E commerce by internet and web has surely revolutionized the trading practice all over the world. IN our country , it is not yet adopted to the optimal level ,and majority of the people still stick to the traditional way but ultimately the need of the day is to switch to the digital counterpart of doing business to survive in the modern market. E commerce has brought flexibility, reliability, accessibility , easiness of trade , one click transaction capability , and remote access to the far off consumers . It doesn’t matter now if you are on the countryside and willing to have something not reachable there by the traditional channel ,all you have to do is to order online. If the consumer gets a product at his doorsteps having an affordable price and a competitive quality ,why would one bother to put effort to buy the product through physical store dealers. But again the quality checking may become an issue that has to be addressed by the e com service providers.
Following are some of the benefits e commerce has brought to the business.
    • Increased sales
    • Decreased costs
    • Cost quotes provided online
    • Increased profits
    • Differentiation in profits and sales
    • Expansion to the global market
    • Market niche targeting
    • Product customization for specific target markets.
    • Allowing innovative business models
    • Allowing high degree of specialization
    • Supporting business process reengineering
    • Increased productivity
    • Improved customer service
    • Better ,more and reliable product descriptions
    • Improved customer feedback
    • Better information sharing between organization and customer and among organizations.
    • Better supply chain management
    • Improved demand and supply management handling

    What is The Internet?
The Internet is a massive network of networks, a networking infrastructure. It connects millions of computers together globally, forming a network in which any computer can communicate with any other computer as long as they are both connected to the Internet. Information that travels over the Internet does so via a variety of languages known as protocols.
What is The Web (World Wide Web)?
The World Wide Web, or simply Web, is a way of accessing information over the medium of the Internet. It is an information-sharing model that is built on top of the Internet. The Web uses the HTTP protocol, only one of the languages spoken over the Internet, to transmit data. Web services, which use HTTP to allow applications to communicate in order to exchange business logic, use the Web to share information. The Web also utilizes browsers, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox, to access Web documents called Web pages that are linked to each other via hyperlinks. Web documents also contain graphics, sounds, text and video.
Did web and internet change the commerce?
    Yes it changed the commerce.
Businesses communicate with customers and partners through channels. The Internet is one of the newest and, for many purposes, best business communications channels. It is fast, reasonably reliable, inexpensive, and universally accessible—it reaches virtually every business and more than 200 million consumers. Doing business online is electronic commerce, and there are four main areas in which companies conduct business online today: direct marketing, selling, and service; online banking and billing; secure distribution of information; and value chain trading and corporate purchasing.
A simple example is discussed here.Small businesses, too, have become easier to start up using the Internet. If you're a stay-at-home mom who makes a killer batch of cookies, you can easily sell them over the Internet and ship them to your customers. In this way business easily assessable and can do due to internet

Yes internet and WEB both has changed the commerce entirely. But basically the difference is as: Internet is basically the inter-connected computers around the world that allows the sending and travel of information. And the Web gives users access to a vast array of documents that are connected to each other by means of hypertext or hypermedia links (via the internet). The WWW is Part of the INTERNET. There are several applications called Web browsers that make it easy to access the World Wide Web; most popular are Firefox and Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

:-: Internet has helped in connecting today's online savvy shopper with any retail or wholesale merchant relate to commerce. Online shopping is very popular, it is now possible to compare prices on various items. We research on new items that just hit the market, get the best possible deals, and have the product of our choice delivered at the front doorstep with just a few clicks of our computer mouse. Internet has also reduced the cost of advertising and is the fastest way to spread information to large number of people.

:-: Web has also changed the commerce like through web Access to anything; any item is available anytime, anywhere, around the globe. Per-student equipment costs are affordable. Almost any computer today equipped with a modem and free browser software can access the Internet or a private Intranet. There are many sites in which people interact with each other and do business and make clients.:)

  86. Question no 2:
The Internet is at its most basic definition an electronic communications network. It is the structure on which the World Wide Web is based. Think of the Internet as a bus, and the Web as the people within the bus....grumpy passengers, screaming babies, and people talking too loud.
The World Wide Web is a part of the Internet "designed to allow easier navigation through the use of graphical user interfaces and hypertext links between different addresses”
The Internet and the Web work together, but they are not the same thing. Think of the bus analogy again - the Internet provides the structure, and the Web provides the dynamic networks that we use via a variety of different methodologies and protocols. For a really good, technical explanation of how this all works.
The true benefits of the Internet and web as an electronic commerce medium are easy to delineate. The web allows almost instant change to your entire business structure, merchandise, pricing, marketing, promotions and sales process. In fact, the Internet will allow you to change all of this from customer to customer.

yes the internet and web are the technologies which have greatly influenced and brought about great changes in commerce. trading and shopping can be done being anywhere in the world. the internet has greatly facilitated commerce. it has given a broader and easier aspect to commerce. now e-commerce gives us access to markets which either exist physically or just virtually, to global markets and to any business which has been online.

  88. Ebusiness goes far beyond ecommerce or buying and selling over the Internet, and deep into the processes and cultures of an enterprise. It is the powerful business environment that is created when you connect critical business systems directly to customers, employees, vendors, and business partners, using Intranets, Extranets, ecommerce technologies, collaborative applications, and the Web.
E-commerce covers outward-facing processes that touch customers, suppliers and external partners, including sales, marketing, order taking, delivery, customer service, purchasing of raw materials and supplies for production and procurement of indirect operating-expense items, such as office supplies. It involves new business models and the potential to gain new revenue or lose some existing revenue to new competitors.

  90. Electronic commerce or "eCommerce" covers the range of on-line business activities for products and services, both business-to-business and business-to-consumer, through the Internet. eCommerce breaks into two components:
Online Shopping - the scope of information and activities that provides the customer with the information they need to conduct business with you and make an informed buying decision.
Online Purchasing - the technology infrastructure for the exchange of data and the purchase of a product over the Internet. Online purchasing is a metaphor used in business-to-business eCommerce for providing customers with an online method of placing an order, submitting a purchase order, or requesting a quote.
eBusiness is a super-set of eCommerce. One component of transitioning your company from a traditional business to an eBusiness is when you incorporate eCommerce into your company's flow. For example, when your sales and fulfillment organizations can handle web-based purchases equivalently to telephone and mail purchases, you have started the transition to eBusiness.

  92. E commerce refers to online transactions - buying and selling of goods and services over the Internet involving transaction of monetary nature. E Business refers to online transactions including interactions with business partners, customers and vendors. eBusiness interactions are aimed at improving business processes and efficiency. The difference between eCommerce and eBusiness is artificial and necessarily covers electronically transactions or information’s. While an eCommerce is the conclusion to a sale or purchase activity through internet with the help of internet banking or credit card gateway, eBusiness is a continuous process right from initiation of sale offer to after sales customer caring. It even does not end there and initiate another phase of the sale. Customer educating, Internet Marketing, researching etc all come under eBusiness. While an eCommerce activity can be done by just with a website that accepts Credit / Debit cards and similar on line purchase instruments, eBusiness scope is lot more than just buying and selling over the Internet, it goes into much depth of procedures and cultures of an organization.
To conclude, it can be summarized that an eBusiness uses the Internet for all of its business activities, while eCommerce is only one domain of an eBusiness.

  94. The differences between the two are as follows:
    1. E-Commerce is the subset of E-Business. The later one is a very broad concept while the former one is just a small part of it.
    2. Those activities which essentially involve monetary transactions are termed as "e-commerce". However, e-business is a much broader term. There are many other things besides selling including but not limited to marketing, procurement of raw materials or goods, customer education, looking for suppliers etc.
    3. To sell online is e-commerce but to bring and retain customers and educate them online about the product or service is e-business. Having a website to do it is not sufficient. But, having a professionally built website loaded with latest technologies to capture the attention of the visitor and win his/her appreciation is required. When money is involved then the first thing which user looks for is safety and security of his/her money. Having a website laden with such qualities is important.
    4. E-commerce has also been defined as a process covering outward processes that touch customers, suppliers and external partners while e-business covers internal processes such as production, inventory management, product development, risk management, finance etc.

  97. “Internet and the web are just two of a long list of technologies that have greatly changed commerce.”
The Internet provides an opportunity to create markets, and serve customers in ways hitherto unimaginable. A couple of years ago many viewed electronic commerce as simply trading using online networks and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange). For them, the Internet was "totally irrelevant and unsuitable for electronic commerce". Their views have changed! Many large companies and retailers are now flocking to the Internet.
Web is the interface through which the customer can interact with the company. Customer can purchase things online easily, comfortably and in short time. Customer can access the international market throgh web and internet.
So,internet and web have greatly improved commerce.
